Our Commitment

Bloop is built on a simple principle: your data belongs to you. We designed the app from the ground up so that your tasks, notes, locations, and plans never leave your device and never touch our servers. We do not collect personal information, we do not build profiles, and we do not share your data with third parties for any commercial purpose.

What Bloop Does Not Do

  • We do not collect your personal information

  • We do not track your location or activity

  • We do not store your data on our servers

  • We do not sell, share, or monetize your data in any form

  • We do not use your data to train AI or machine learning models

  • We do not serve ads

Data Storage

All data you create in Bloop — Bloops, Blips, Notes, categories, outings, and settings — is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's on-device storage framework. No Bloop data is transmitted to our servers at any point. If you delete the app, your data is deleted with it.

Apple Frameworks We Use

Bloop uses several Apple-provided frameworks to deliver its features. Each of these is governed by Apple's own privacy policy, not ours. We describe them here so you understand what each one does.

  1. MapKit
Bloop uses Apple's MapKit framework to display maps and resolve location searches. When you search for a location or load the map, your device communicates with Apple's mapping servers to retrieve map tiles and place data. This communication is between your device and Apple — Bloop does not receive, store, or process this data. Apple's privacy policy governs how Apple handles these requests.

  1. Foundation Models
Bloop uses Apple's on-device Foundation Models framework for emoji suggestions when creating categories. This runs entirely on your device. No text, input, or output from this feature is transmitted to Apple's servers or to Bloop. It requires a compatible device and iOS version.

  1. EventKit — Apple Calendar
If you enable Calendar Sync, Bloop reads from and writes to your Apple Calendar using Apple's EventKit framework. This data is processed entirely on your device. Bloop does not transmit your calendar data to any server. Calendar Sync requires your explicit permission and can be disabled at any time in your device Settings.

  1. Push Notifications
If you enable notifications, Bloop uses Apple's Push Notification service (APNs) to deliver alerts. Notification delivery is handled by Apple. Bloop does not store notification content on any server. You can disable notifications at any time in your device Settings.

  1. Location Services

Bloop requests While Using the App location permission only. Your location is never accessed when Bloop is running in the background. Location access requires your explicit permission and can be revoked at any time in your iPhone Settings under Privacy and Security → Location Services → Bloop.

Subscriptions

Bloop offers a free tier and a Pro subscription. Subscription purchases are processed entirely by Apple through the App Store. Bloop does not handle, store, or have access to your payment information. Your subscription status is verified through Apple's StoreKit framework on your device. For questions about billing, refunds, or subscription management, contact Apple Support or visit your Apple ID subscription settings.

Support Communications

If you contact us at clancy@bloopit.ca for support, we receive your email address and the contents of your message. We use this information only to respond to your inquiry. We do not add support contacts to mailing lists, share your email with third parties, or retain support emails longer than necessary to resolve your issue. You may request deletion of your support communication at any time by emailing clancy@bloopit.ca.

Children's Privacy

Bloop is suitable for users aged 13 and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Because Bloop does not collect personal data from any user, there is no special risk to younger users beyond the age requirements of the App Store itself. If you believe a child under 13 has used Bloop in a way that has resulted in personal data being shared with us, please contact us at clancy@bloopit.ca and we will address it promptly.

Crash Reports

If Bloop crashes, Apple's operating system may generate a crash report. These reports can be shared with us through Xcode's crash reporting tools if you have opted into sharing diagnostic data with app developers in your iPhone Settings under Privacy and Security → Analytics and Improvements. We use crash reports solely to identify and fix technical issues. Crash reports do not contain your Bloop data, notes, or location history.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding personal data held about you. Because Bloop does not collect or store personal data on our servers, there is generally no personal data for us to provide, correct, or delete. The only personal data we may hold is your email address if you have contacted us for support. In that case:

Canada (PIPEDA / Alberta PIPA): You have the right to access and correct personal information we hold about you.

United States: Your rights vary by state. Bloop's data practices — collecting no personal data — are designed to meet or exceed the requirements of US state privacy laws including CCPA.

United Kingdom (UK GDPR): You have the right to access, correct, and request deletion of personal data we hold. You may also lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO).

Australia (Privacy Act 1988): You have the right to access and correct personal information we hold. You may also lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at clancy@bloopit.ca. We will respond within 30 days.

Third-Party Services

Bloop does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. The only external communications initiated by Bloop are through Apple's own frameworks described above, each governed by Apple's privacy policy available at apple.com/privacy.

Data Security

Because your data never leaves your device, the security of your Bloop data is tied to the security of your device. We recommend enabling a device passcode, Face ID, or Touch ID to protect your information. If your device is lost or stolen, your Bloop data is protected by your device's security settings. Bloop does not have the ability to remotely access, lock, or wipe your data.

Changes to This Policy

We will update this Privacy Policy when our data practices change. The updated policy will be published at bloopit.ca/privacy with a revised date at the top. Continued use of Bloop after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy. We encourage you to review this page periodically. We will not reduce your privacy protections under this policy without making the updated policy clearly available.

You create tasks and notes. They stay on your phone. We never see them. We never want to see them. The map is powered by Apple. The calendar sync stays on your device. Notifications go through Apple. We get nothing except an email if you choose to write to us. That is the entire picture.
